Mountain Village and Streams

Recently finished painting that I have been coming back to for a few years. This piece is inspired by ancient Chinese landscape painting from the Sung, and Yuan Dynasties. Tranquil mountain pass scenes of harmonious villages were common themes, and there is an air of profound beauty inherant in the works. My adaptation is in oil, but my aim was to convey this vastness that is most un-describable , and referred to as the Tao in eastern cultures of the time.
